The Vine Street Snowmen Public Art Project began in 2017, when we were approached by the Eastlake Helping Hands group about creating a Winter beautification project. Since our goal as art teachers is to have a service-learning art club that involves students in creative experiences that benefit others and our community, this project was right up our alley. In 2017, our students designed and painted 8 snowmen which were placed along Vine Street during the holiday season. The snowmen were such a hit, that in 2018 we created 25 more snowmen for the cities of Eastlake, Willowick and Willoughby. (We could not have done this without the help of NCI's Success Academy and Auto Collision program.)
